Autumnal OOTD

Coat & hat - Next
Dress - Dorothy Perkins
Shoes- Dr Martens

Hey everyone! I thought I'd break myself back into blogging with a quick little OOTD. I bought this dress last weekend and I absolutely love it! Being 5' tall I find it so hard to find dresses to fit, but I spotted this in Dorothy Perkins and as soon as I laid my eyes on it I knew it would fit me perfectly!

I got this bag from the Cambridge Satchel Company shop when I visited Cambridge in September, I've used it literally everyday since I got it, may even do a full post on it soon, I just love it that much!

I also think I've worn this bobble hat everyday since I got it! The two bobbles make it a little different from the other ones I've seen this season. I picked it up in Next, the same as my coat.

Thanks for reading, please leave a comment and let me know what you think!

Just do you

In todays world it is way too easy to compare yourself to other people, wether that be your friends, complete strangers or even celebrities. With people documenting their entire lives on social media it is easy to look at their achievements in comparison to your own and feel downhearted by the difference in your success.

I too often find myself looking back through people's Instagram feeds and wondering why my life doesn't seem as perfect and 'together' as what theirs does. Why don't I have the perfect eyeliner flick everyday? Why don't I have a perfect relationship? Why don't I have a career that I love? And why don't I have a drawer full of MAC make up?!

It is way too easy to create a 'perfect' persona of your life on social media, everything looks prettier with a Valencia filter applied to it. And who can blame us really, posting a picture of your exciting Saturday night out has got to be better than the reality of working until 9pm and then devouring a takeaway that should definitely of been shared between a family of four.

But the truth behind it all is that you can never really tell what someone's life is truly like until you get to know that person, and even then perhaps you do still only see a snippet of the truth. I think one of the most important things I've learnt this year is that, being honest and unapologetically yourself at all possible moments is so much better than pretending to be something that you are not.
